Sewer gas is extremely toxic and hazardous to human health. Although it is known to cause death in higher concentrations, very little is known about it's health impact at lower concentrations. This gap in our knowledge base creates an unfortunate situation for those who have been exposed making it difficult to get appropriate medical care and even more difficult to win compensatory damages from responsible parties.

This page is intended as an advocacy resource for patients with sewer gas exposure. It was started by a patient who suffered a chronic low level exposure to toxic sewer gas and developed a number of health problems. Because little is known about this type of exposure, finding help was very, very difficult.

As such, she decided that if she couldn't find the help she was looking for, maybe it was time to plant her flag to see if anyone else found her. While few people aspire from a young age to be the poster person for sewer gas exposure, the issue eventually became too big to hide in the closet anymore. And so this web page was born.

Sewer Gas is Toxic. It's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it.
